According to the survey data of Portuguese company Fixando, in 2021, the installation cost of small photovoltaic systems of 300W to 500W in Portugal is about 420 euros, and this year, the installation cost has risen by about 40.5% to 590 euros. According to Fixando, demand for renewable energy in Portugal will soar by 180% by the end of this year.
Rising gas and electricity prices have prompted more consumers to invest in renewable energy, while PV installers have raised their installation prices in the face of unprecedented demand and a lack of professional labor.
According to Fixando, 55% of registration requests completed through its platform in July went unanswered, and less than 10% of companies listed on the app were able to offer new appointments.
Applications registered on the Fixando procedure mainly came from Lisbon (17%), Porto (15%), Setúbal (10%), Aveiro (9%), Braga (8%) and Leiria (8%) ). The majority of users (89%) seek such services for homes over 100 square meters. Despite rising costs, 42% of these users plan to connect their PV systems to the grid, and only 25% are willing to stay off-grid.
Fixando conducted the study between July 1 and August 25, surveying 2,600 users and 1,200 professionals registered on its platform.
