Lead-acid batteries in China may be fully replaced in the next 20 years

In the national twelfth five-year strategic plan, the lithium iron phosphate battery of new energy materials has been listed as a national key scientific and technological strategic project, and financial and technical support has been increased. In the field of wind photovoltaic power generation, communication base stations, and new energy vehicles And other fields began to promote and apply. In the next 20 years, lithium iron phosphate batteries in the field of mobile base stations are expected to fully replace lead-acid batteries, realizing the national energy conservation and environmental protection strategy.

At present, valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries have become the first choice for communication power systems due to their small size, stable voltage, no pollution, light weight, high discharge performance, and low maintenance. However, in actual use, there are many people who fail to reach the theoretical life expectancy. In theory, most of the batteries that have worked for 7 to 10 years are damaged within 2 to 3 years, and some even fail to reach a lifespan of 1 year, causing great economic losses.

In addition, due to the relatively lagging power development in my country, the nationwide power shortage is more serious. Many regions have experienced insufficient power and power shortages. Power cuts have also occurred from time to time. Mobile base stations are scattered in urban and rural areas and the supply of city power is insufficient. Objectively speaking, it is a great test for the use and maintenance of VRLA batteries in base stations. If the maintenance is not handled in time, it will directly affect the performance and service life of VRLA batteries.
