The installed capacity of Panasonic, BYD, and SK On are 36.1GWh, 26.3GWh, and 16.7GWh, respectively, accounting for 12.2%, 8.8%, and 5.6% of the market.
It can be seen from the data that CATL and LG New Energy occupy more than half of the market share, and have almost become the most important power battery suppliers for current car companies. In particular, the Ningde era will explode in 2021. With the advantages of ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries, the market share will rapidly increase from 24.6% in 2020 to 32.6% in 2021, opening the gap with LG New Energy. gap.
The performance forecast released by CATL shows that the net profit in 2021 is expected to reach 16.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of about 195%, which will set a record for the highest profit since its listing. This year, the new energy vehicle market will continue the explosive growth trend, and CATL has reached cooperation with Tesla, Volkswagen, BMW, Ford and other car companies, and its power battery installed capacity and performance are expected to reach a peak.
It is worth noting that although the installed capacity of power batteries in CATL is very high, it is basically provided to the domestic market. Its installed capacity in China reaches 80.51GWh, accounting for 90% of the total business. The development space of overseas markets is huge. If CATL wants to maintain its advantages, it also needs to increase the development of overseas business.
