A joint venture (JV) of investors Pash Global and Erih Holdings recently said that it plans to develop solar power facilities and battery energy storage projects in Paraguay to develop public business.
The first stage of investment targets are 100MW solar power generation facilities and 40MWH independent deployment battery energy storage projects.
In the second stage, the scale of solar power generation facilities may increase to 200MW, and the battery energy storage project increases to 70MWh.
The two companies announced that the first solar+energy storage project will be put into production in 2024, and the remaining projects will be deployed between 2024 and 2025.
Like most Latin American countries, the Paraguay battery energy storage market is in a relatively early stage. However, the recent actions of the country's government show that this situation may soon change.
In early 2021, the country's power grid operator and public business manufacturer ANDE company plans to deploy a series of new solar+energy storage projects.
In Paraguay's "General Plan for Power Generation in 2021 to 2040", 7 projects have deployed solar power generation facilities and battery energy storage systems, and the capacity of three large energy storage projects in 2024 to 2025 is 44MWh.
Pash Global's headquarters is located in London, England, and ERIH is headquartered in Ankara, Turkey
