Powin Energy, Energy Storage Integrated, has begun construction of two battery energy storage projects in Edaho.
These two battery energy storage projects include a 80MW battery energy storage system deployed by Powin Energy at Heming Power Power Station in Edarian Power Company, and a 40MW battery energy storage project adjacent to Black Mesa solar power field. Edhata Power Company is the state's transmission system operator (TSO), which owns and operates a considerable scale of hydropower facilities and natural gas power plants.
Both battery energy storage projects are battery energy storage systems that last more than 4 hours with a total energy storage capacity of 524MWh. Powin Energy signed a bid contract for the two projects in May last year.
The company said that the two projects are expected to be launched in the summer of 2023, mainly providing the stored renewable energy power to the power grid during peak peak demand.
The company also plans to deploy a 60MW battery energy storage project and a 100MW solar power generation facility, which will be built by Duke Energy Company.
