Quinbrook provides CfD for 350 MW solar cell project in England

Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners has won a contract for difference (CfD) for a 350 MW solar + battery storage project in Kent, south-east England, thus securing the largest solar award in the UK government's fourth funding round.

The renewable energy infrastructure investor said recently that the 15-year contract is related to the Fortress project, adding that it will enable it to start construction by the end of the year. The scheme aims to create the UK's largest single point photovoltaic (PV) park.

Once operational, the proposed solar farm will be able to generate enough electricity to power around 100,000 homes in the UK each year. It will be combined with battery storage facilities to provide flexibility to the national grid.
