Saft, a Total Energies company, has launched a new lithium-ion battery system called Seanergy 2.0 for fully electric and hybrid boats. The marine battery is an environmentally friendly and competitively priced solution that can help ship operators reduce fuel consumption, CO2 and NOx emissions, and air pollution without compromising performance.
According to reports, the system can be expanded to accommodate propulsion and other loads on board, including ferries, work and tugboats, offshore support vessels, cruise ships and yachts.
With a high energy density of 130 watt-hours per liter (Wh/l), Seanergy 2.0 is a compact solution for even the most constrained onboard space. Marine integrators can use individual modules to build large battery systems up to 1060 volts (V) with power, safety, management and communications capabilities.
This battery system is designed to provide reliability and long life in the most challenging environmental conditions. In addition, the system is maintenance-free and has the ability to support remote condition monitoring by uploading operational data to a secure server.
It is understood that the Seanergy 2.0 is produced at Saft’s factory in Poitiers, France, and is designed to comply with the highest maritime industry standard certifications.
