Since the invention of lithium batteries, what major breakthroughs have they made?

From the material point of view:

1. Around 1994, the negative electrode changed from hard carbon to graphite, a real breakthrough, which I personally think is the most critical breakthrough, which directly led to the revolution of specific energy and electrolyte system, which is vital to subsequent development;

2. Three yuan began to be gradually applied around 2000, providing the possibility of low cobalt and high specific energy;

3. The marketization of iron-lithium materials began around 2004, providing another important choice besides oxide materials; breakthroughs in other materials, such as diaphragm surface treatment technology and the application of silicon materials, can be called breakthroughs. But the importance is not comparable to the above three breakthroughs. From the perspective of battery form, from the earliest 18650 to the soft case to the aluminum case, it can be said to be a breakthrough, but more importantly, the emergence of single large-capacity batteries. In this regard, China has always been in the forefront. It's famously bold. Around 2000, mainland Tai Chi was launched with a single unit of 100Ah. Later, there were hundreds of thousands of amp-hour batteries from the Thunder Sky system. Now it seems like a joke, but thinking about it, it might not be a big deal Breakthrough, at least do a wave of unprecedented things, and without these explorers, follow-up people will not be able to free their minds to make innovations such as blades.
