South Korea will provide 7 trillion won support for local battery manufacturers in the next five years

In the next five years, South Korea will provide 7 trillion won (about 5.3 billion US dollars) for Korean battery manufacturers who build factories in North America in the next five years.

 

In an email statement issued by the Ministry of Trade on April 7, the Ministry of Trade stated that these supports include reducing loan interest rates and insurance premiums by up to 20%, and providing more loans and tax reductions for battery and material manufacturers.


According to the latest data from South Korean institutions SNE, in 2022, the number of newly registered electric vehicles (EV, PHEV, HEV) battery vehicles in the world was 517.9GWh, an increase of 71.8%year -on -year. According to the Korean business media Business KOREA, the three largest South Korean battery manufacturers LG new energy, Samsung SDI and SK On are expected to invest in 2023 to expand their capacity, with a total of 135GWh, which can be 2 million vehicles 65 kilowatts. Power on electric vehicles. Among them, LG's new energy is 300GWh, Samsung SDI is 107GWh, and SK On is 89GWh.
