December 17, State Grid Chongqing Ultra high voltage company innovation application independent research and development of overhead ground wire repair robot successfully completed 220 kv Qisheng LINE OPGW cable repair, this is the first state grid Chongqing company application robot OPGW cable repair.

State Grid Chongqing Ultra High Voltage Company has organized power transmission professional backbone and technical personnel to carry out on-site survey and measurement for many times. After research and demonstration, it finally decided to use overhead ground wire repair robot for power transmission line repair without power failure.


Ground repair robot by the first 220 kv Qisheng line 59 tower with personnel installed on the OPGW cable, and then by the ground technical personnel remote control robot fast and steady march to the broken section, complete automatic repair, ground repair robot along the way back to 59 tower, by the tower with personnel removed, successfully complete the task.


"Ground wire repair robot is divided into two parts, the fuselage and operation monitoring console. The fuselage is manually set up on the ground, and the operator controls the robot movement on the ground to repair the position of scattered and broken stock by operating the monitoring console. It is independently developed by the ultra high voltage company. The operation time is about 80 minutes, compared with the traditional live line operation, it reduces the time for live line workers to go on line and eliminate shortage manually, reduces the risk factor of working at height, and greatly improves the safety of the operation. "Compared with outage maintenance, the robot can reduce the outage time by 6 hours, effectively saving economic costs." It is understood that the application of the transmission line overhead ground wire repair robot using intelligent perception system and image recognition, remote control, wireless transmission and other technologies, relying on the hd camera accurately capture ground wire broken position, in the absence of network signal area through its own wireless network device will defect back to the maintenance personnel. Maintenance personnel remotely control the repair robot to accurately "suture" the defect of broken aerial ground wire to eliminate the hidden danger of line safety.


Next, State Grid Chongqing UHV Company will also expand the airborne function of overhead ground wire repair robot, carry out single wire broken defect repair and intelligent line inspection, explore the application of ground wire pressure nosepipe flaw detection and other aspects, and improve the maintenance efficiency and safety level.
