Stellantis and Samsung SDI announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a second battery manufacturing factory in the United States under an existing joint venture. The factory is scheduled to start production in early 2027, with an initial annual production capacity of 34 GWh. Stellantis stated that the location of the new facility is currently under review.
In May 2022, Stellantis and Samsung SDI announced the construction of their first battery manufacturing plant in Cocomo, Indiana, USA. The factory is scheduled to start production in the first quarter of 2025, with an annual production capacity of 33GWh, higher than the initial target of 23GWh.
