Turkey will start the first batch of energy storage projects in 2023

The Turkish government has introduced new energy storage regulations. The new regulations will allow energy storage facilities to jointly operate with unlicensed power plants. Such power plants will be allowed to increase its wind power or solar power generation capacity to achieve the installation power of energy storage facilities.


The government will start the first batch of energy storage projects in mid -2023. New regulations will support the Turkish photovoltaic market, which is growing at least 1 Gava each year.


According to the latest data from Turkish power grid operator Teias, Turkey's cumulative photovoltaic power generation capacity exceeds 10 Gaval.
