The 37 new projects announced this time are located in the United States, Spain, France, Australia, Canada, India, Japan and the United Arab Emirates. These new projects vary in type and size and include three new wind farms, 26 new solar farms, and eight new rooftop solar installations around the world. So far, Amazon has 310 renewable energy projects, including 134 wind and solar farms and 176 rooftop solar projects.
Once operational, Amazon's 310 projects are expected to generate 42,000 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable energy annually, enough to power 3.9 million U.S. homes each year. In addition, the zero-carbon energy produced by these projects will help reduce carbon emissions by 17.3 million tons per year, equivalent to reducing the emissions of 3.7 million vehicles in the United States each year.

Amazon co-sponsored the Climate Pledge in 2019, pledging to achieve zero carbon emissions across all business lines by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement target. To achieve this goal, Amazon will continue to reduce emissions and take concrete actions to advance its goal of using 100% renewable energy to support company operations by 2025, five years ahead of the original plan of 2030. Amazon is also committed to its vision of "zero-carbon transportation", 50% of its shipments will be zero-carbon by 2030, and it has purchased 100,000 electric vans, which is also Amazon's largest electric van order ever.
