Industry insiders revealed that the two parties are starting the final negotiations on the details of the agreement, such as factory output, investment methods and specific location selection. The factory is expected to start at the end of this year, and it will be put into production in 2026, with an annual production capacity of 30 to 50 Gawah.
If Samsung SDI finally reached an agreement with GM, this will be the company's second cooperation project in North America. Samsung SDI announced that it planned to build a US $ 2.5 billion joint -venture battery plant in Indiana, Indiana, USA in May last year. It is expected that the plant will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2025, and the final annual production capacity will reach 23 Gavaco.
