Stormy weather, photovoltaic power plant protection and personal safety how to do?

Summer rainstorms are frequent, the impact on the photovoltaic power plant is mainly a large amount of rainwater on the cable and component soaking, insulation performance decline or even broken resulting in the inverter detects a fault can not generate electricity.

Pitched roof itself has strong drainage capacity, generally will not appear too much water; flat roof if the lower edge of the components is low, there is a possibility of rainwater soaking; for PV power plants installed on the ground, rainwater washing the ground may lead to component imbalance.

Faced with the inevitable natural disasters, what should PV power plants do?

Choose the site carefully

Comprehensive consideration of photovoltaic power generation site selection requirements, in terms of hydrological conditions to consider the maximum short-term precipitation rainfall, water depth, flood levels, drainage conditions, etc., the above factors will directly affect the PV system bracket system, the design of the bracket foundation and the installation height of electrical equipment. If the water depth is high, the mounting height of the modules and other electrical equipment will be high, and the flooding level will affect the safety of the bracket foundation and electrical. Poor drainage conditions will lead to long-term submersion of the foundation and metal bracket and endanger the safety of the power plant.

Adequate design

In the program design stage, in addition to control the cost cost considerations, according to hydrological information, for ground power station and fishery-photovoltaic complementary power station, the design of the bracket height should have a relative margin. For the lake PV power station, it is recommended to adopt the floating design scheme. According to the topography design drainage system, ground power station, fishery-photovoltaic complementary power station and water power station should be designed and set up corresponding drainage facilities according to the meteorological and hydrological conditions of the location.

Flood response

Prevention is the main focus, pay attention to weather conditions in a timely manner, and set up additional temporary drainage facilities before the arrival of heavy precipitation. Management patrol, for the process of heavy rainfall, special terrain areas to take special means of flood control levees. When the photovoltaic power generation system is flooded, there is a risk of electric shock when approaching or touching the photovoltaic inverter (PCS) and the connection part of the solar panel and the power supply cable. Solar panels damaged by flooding may have poor insulation and other faults, and there is a risk of electric shock if contacted. During restoration work, avoid unarmed operation and take measures against electric shock (use rubber gloves and boots, etc.) to reduce the risk of electric shock.

Equipment selection

Priority is given to equipment with high protection level, for example: micro-inverter with superior waterproof performance and IP67 protection level; bracket that can be immersed in water for a long time and can do more than ten years or even decades without rusting and corrosion, without reducing steel and keeping structural stability. Equipment manufacturers and technical teams to do equipment and technology upgrades to avoid or reduce the loss of PV power plants after flooding.

Choose the right PV insurance

Underwriting natural disasters, accidents and other causes of direct property losses of photovoltaic power plants. Its main protection is: photovoltaic power generation equipment, transmission and substation systems and buildings and other ancillary facilities; insurance liability mainly includes natural disasters, non-mechanical or electrical accidents and mechanical or electrical accidents.

Specific measures for PV power plant against rainstorm

1. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the installed PV modules and projects under construction, which includes fasteners of screws and fasteners adjustment, and replace damaged fasteners immediately. Use double strands of 2 square millimeters of wire to tie the series of components in the windward side to fix.

2、Add fastening windproof ties to the photovoltaic bracket to prevent the bracket from twisting with the wind; tamp the ground anchor cut through the rock on both sides of the string; fasten all the bolts in the whole field.

3、Strengthen the roving inspection of the components and brackets, and once the loose components and brackets are found, fix the treatment in time.

4、If the load of the color steel tile roof does not meet the load-bearing requirements, be sure to give reinforcement treatment according to the correct plan.

Note: When inspecting operation and maintenance in rainy days, avoid unarmed electrical operation, do not touch the inverter, components, cables and terminals directly with your hands, you need to put on rubber gloves and wear rubber boots to reduce the risk of electric shock.

What should we do for our own safety?

Avoid rain two don't

Do not take shelter under the transformer or overhead line

Thunderstorms are likely to cause a short circuit or transformer bare wire, discharge, high winds may scrape off the wire, resulting in electrocution.

Do not take shelter under trees or billboards

Do not stay or take shelter under the tall trees or large billboards immediately adjacent to the power lines.

Travel two away from

Stay away from stagnant water

Thunderstorm travel should be far away from the stagnant road, such as must wade must observe the nearby electric equipment, to ensure safety, to avoid electrocution.

Stay away from power poles, street light poles and diagonal wire

Slanting iron wire is close to the wire, in bad weather may appear accidentally charged, street lamp poles by water diffusion through easy leakage, away from the pole, street lamp poles and slanting iron wire, to prevent electrocution accidents.

Don't panic in an accident

Do not panic when the wire breaks down in the vicinity

If the wire happens to break down in the vicinity, do not panic, jump with one leg or jump with both legs together and leave the scene 8~10 meters away, otherwise you may be electrocuted under the action of step voltage.

Please call 95598 when you find a broken wire

If you find a broken wire in standing water, do not handle it by yourself, but immediately mark it around, remind other pedestrians not to approach, and promptly call 95598 to notify the power company for emergency treatment.

Don't rush to help when someone falls down with electric shock

When someone is found to be electrocuted, do not save him with your bare hands, you must first cut off the power supply and use dry insulating apparatus to pick open the wire in order to rescue the electrocuted or call 120 for on-site rescue.

Finally, remind everyone to pay attention to travel safety, always pay attention to the weather forecast, remember to go out with good rain gear!
