Northvolt said that in the next few years, Northvolt Ett's production capacity will increase to 60GWh per year to fulfill the company's already received orders worth more than $30 billion. Currently, Northvolt customers include BMW, Fluence, Scania, Volkswagen, Volvo Cars and Polestar.

On December 14, the Swedish battery startup Northvolt announced that it will establish a joint venture "Aurora" in Portugal with the energy company Galp Energia to build a lithium salt factory.
Aurora will be 50% owned by Northvolt and Galp Energia. The plant will invest about 700 million euros and can produce 35,000 tons of lithium hydroxide per year (enough for about 700,000 electric vehicles), half of which will be used for Northvolt battery production .
According to Northvolt's plan, the company aims to achieve a battery production capacity of approximately 150GWh by 2030 and occupy a 25% market share in Europe.
