The new Snowbot S1 from Hanyan Robotics in South Korea is the world's first autonomous snow plowing robot for home use. It helps keep your driveway, yard, and sidewalks snow-free day and night. Snowbot S1 is a battery-powered, autonomous snowblower. The robot takes about 2 hours to charge and then can run for about 1.5 hours. The unit weighs 65 kilograms (143 pounds). It will be introduced to the consumer market.
Designed to clear consumer driveways and sidewalks in weather with moderate snowfall, the Snowboot requires a gas snowblower better suited for manual control in climates with frequent heavy snow, deeper snow, and clearing spaces requiring more than 2100 square feet.

The robot automatically adjusts its speed to the depth of the snow.
Equipped with LiDAR sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance, the robot also monitors auger speed and will automatically stop if the auger gets stuck in snow or other objects.
