Norwegian battery producer Morrow Batteries has signed a non -binding procurement agreement with battery energy integrated integrators Eldrift, and ELDRIFT will purchase a 1.5gWh iron phosphate (LFP) battery provided by Morrow Batteries.
According to this agreement, Eldrift promised to purchase a 1.5GWH battery produced by Morrow Batteries from 2024.
Morrow Batteries is building a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery production plant in Alren Dar, Norway, and its annual capacity in the first stage will reach 1GWh. It is planned to increase the annual production capacity to 43GWh by 2028 (second stage).
In the past, the company has stated that its main goal is the electric vehicle market rather than an energy storage system, so ELDRift is the first partner to declare its battery.
In August 2022, Morrow Batteries signed an agreement with the Norwegian Industrial Development Corporation (SIVA) to start the construction of the production plant. In February 2022, the company obtained 25 million Norwegian Crown (230 Gifts of 10,000 dollars).
Morrow Batteries will also cooperate with the North American lithium-ion battery recyclable LI-Cycle to plan to establish a lithium-ion battery recycling plant in Norway.
Norway Eldrift is a newly established company and is a subsidiary of NMI Holding. It mainly provides mobile charging solutions and user -side battery energy storage systems for electric vehicles.
