Samsung SDI was subsidized by the Hungarian government 89.6 million euros

The European Commission stated that the Hungarian government has approved the Hungarian government to issue subsidies to the Samsung SDI (battery company) Hungarian factory on February 28. The amount of subsidies for the first phase of the Samsung SDI Hungary reached 89.6 million euros, and the project was completed in the second half of 2019.

Hungary will also provide subsidies for the second phase of the Samsung SDI to start construction earlier this year. Although Samsung SDI has not announced the production scale of the Hungarian factory, the industry speculates that the annual production capacity is 50GWh, that is, the number of annual installation machines is 600,000 units (high -performance vehicles). The Samsung SDI Hungary Factory is mainly supplied to European electric vehicle companies such as BMW, Volkswagen, Standeis, etc. Recently, the delivery needs of these customers have been increasing. Some analysts believe that Samsung SDI will build new factories in North America in the future.

Earlier, another large battery company in South Korea, SK On, also received subsidies for the third phase of Hungary projects in March last year, with an amount of 209 million euros.
