According to data released by South Korean market research firm SNE Research on the 3rd, the global newly registered power battery installation volume from January to June this year was 304.3 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 50.1%. The battery loading volume of the three major battery manufacturers in South Korea has also increased across the entire line, but the total market share is 23.9%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2 percentage points.
Specifically, the installed volume of LG new energy batteries increased by 50.3% year-on-year to 44.1 GWh, ranking third globally with a market share of 14.5%; SK on increased by 16.1% year-on-year to 15.9GWh, ranking fifth with a market share of 5.2%; Samsung SDI increased by 28.2% year-on-year to 12.6GWh, ranking 7th with a market share of 4.1%. The total market share of the three Korean companies decreased by 2.2 percentage points year-on-year to 23.9%.
In the same period, China's CATL ranked first with a market share of 36.8%, and the battery load increased by 56.2% year-on-year to 112GWh. BYD increased by 102.4% year-on-year to 47.7 GWh, closely following with a market share of 15.7%.
