Norwegian Kyoto Group plans to deploy the 88MWH heat energy storage system in Spain next year

Kyoto Group, headquartered in Norway, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to deploy an 88MWH heat -storage system in Spain in the second half of 2023.

Kyoto Group has signed a letter of intention with a company that has not disclosed the name. Kyoto Group referred to the company in a press release as one of Spain's largest thermoelectric co -production facilities. If the agreement is implemented, the Kyoto Group will deploy an 88MWH thermal energy storage system in a thermoelectric co -production facility in the company.

The main owners of this thermoelectric co -production facility include Natury, AES, Endesa and Iberdrola.

In addition, the Kyoto Group acquired a Mercury Energy company headquartered in Spain, which has a large number of intellectual property rights related to thermal energy storage development, and then renamed it Hyoto Technology Spain in March this year.

The Heatcube heat storage system of the Kyoto Group is a modular heat storage solution. Its working principle is to heat the melt salt to 415 ° C, and then use it to heat the fluid in the production of production industries. The company said it can store the heat energy up to 525 ° C with melting salt.

The energy storage capacity of the Heatcube heat storage system is 16-96MWH, and the installed capacity of each Heatcube heat storage system is as high as 5MW.

In August of this year, the company signed a letter of intent of GLMMA PAPP, a corrugated cardboard manufacturer GLOMMA PAPP, and plans to deploy a thermal energy storage system in the summer of 2023 and conduct debugging.
